Area Chart Maker
Paste your data to build an area chart — a line chart with the region below each line filled in to emphasise magnitude. Use a first column for x-axis labels and numeric columns for each series.
How it works
An area chart is a line chart with the space between the line and the axis filled with colour, which draws attention to the magnitude of the values, not just their trend. Paste your data with the x-axis labels in the first column and one numeric column per series; a header row names the series for the legend.
Areas are drawn with a translucent fill so overlapping series remain readable, and the chart re-colours for light and dark themes. Data may be comma-, tab- or space-separated for easy pasting from a spreadsheet, and you can screenshot the finished chart.
Examples
- One numeric column draws a single filled area.
- Several numeric columns draw overlapping translucent areas.
- The first column becomes the x-axis labels.
Frequently asked questions
- How is an area chart different from a line chart?
- An area chart is a line chart with the region beneath each line shaded. The fill emphasises the size of the values and the cumulative sense of volume over the axis.
- Can I show multiple series?
- Yes. Add more numeric columns; each becomes a translucent area so overlapping series stay legible.
- What data format is accepted?
- Comma-, tab- or space-separated rows, with the first column as x-axis labels and numeric columns as series; an all-text first row is the legend header.
- Is it private?
- Yes. The chart is built entirely in your browser and your data never leaves your device.
